Additional information about Hydrangea

Hydrangea is a flowering plant that belongs to the family Hydrangeaceae. There are approximately 70-75 different species of Hydrangea, but the most famous and cultivated is the Bigleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla). Hydrangea is a deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub with large, blooming flowers that vary in color from pink, blue, purple, white and green.

Deutschland garden hydrangea bush, also known as RAINBOW, has large, round inflorescences with a diameter of up to 20 cm. Depending on the acidity of the soil, they can be purple-pink or red-pink. In our conditions, it grows up to 1.5 m in height with a similar width. Its habit is usually spherical, somewhat upright. It has large, dark green, shiny leaves that give the plant a bit of massiveness. The flowers appear in early summer and continue to cover the bush until early fall.

We plant it in the espalier at a distance of 90-100 cm. The plant goes very well with other deciduous shrubs, especially those with darker flowers. Thanks to its size and low requirements, it is perfect for containers that successfully decorate balconies and terraces. Planted individually, it will color even the smallest garden.

Hydrangeas are invaluable garden shrubs, suitable for a variety of garden styles, and have the ability to combine different textures, colors and purposes in a single composition. Planted in a bed, they immediately fill it, develop luxuriantly from spring and then when they flower - they look fantastic, especially when planted in a group. Hydrangeas provide an ideal background for many perennials, or when planted in a single cluster, often of a single species.
