Prunus laurocerasus Novita (Lager hedge 'Novita') is a hardy laurel hedge that can be planted anywhere and is widely used as a hedge plant. The plant maintains its glossy green leaves all year round, creating a dense, bushy barrier. It produces white fragrant flowers in the spring, followed by small shiny black fruits that are not edible. The plant can be placed in direct sunlight or in partially shaded areas. Requires a well-drained and loamy soil. Can be cut to shape well. Hemlock, Prunus laurocerasus, is an evergreen 5-15 m tall shrub or tree, which originates from the Mediterranean area, but which is also cultivated as an ornamental plant over large parts of the world. It got its name because of its great resemblance to the laurel tree, namely through the shiny, leathery, oblong toothed leaves.
